How can therapy help?

Therapy can help individuals by providing a supportive and non-judgmental environment to discuss and process their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through therapy, individuals can gain new insights and perspectives, develop coping skills, improve relationships, and work towards personal growth and change. Therapy can also help individuals manage mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, and can provide tools to navigate life challenges and stressors.

How can I book an appointment at THE GOOD CHAPTER?

Start by booking a 15-minute consultation free of charge. Next, you'll book your 50-minute intake session, where your unique goals and history will be discussed. Follow up sessions of 50-minutes in duration can be booked as needed.

Are services covered by insurance?

Psychotherapy services may be covered or partially covered by your private health insurance. Check with your insurance provider to see if you are covered for Psychotherapy, the designation required for your provider (e.g., Registered Psychotherapist), the amount covered, and how to submit your receipts in order for reimbursement.

How long should I be in therapy for?

Deciding how long to be in therapy is a personal choice. As the client, you are in control of your therapy, and your therapist will respect that. Building trust and rapport takes time, and short-term therapy lasts 6-12 sessions, while medium-term lasts up to 24. Longer-term therapy depends on your goals and the issues you want to address, and it is an investment in your well-being. Discussing any concerns with your therapist directly is important for a successful outcome.

Are services covered by OHIP?

Sessions are not covered by OHIP; however, they may be covered or partially covered by your private health insurance. For free therapeutic services in Ontario, visit https://www.ontario.ca/page/find-mental-health-support for more information.
